Infusion is defined as: "the introduction of a quality that fills and permeates the whole being". Infusion Evolution plays original music with flamenco Afro-Cuban flair. It is the combination of our diverse backgrounds which creates something powerful and emotional. The rhythmic nature of the band produces a hypnotic feel that levitates people from their seats, while the strong and attentive groove draws them to the dance floor. Since the founding of the band in 1999, we have tried to keep our music fresh and interesting while always expanding the boundaries of our sound. This is the Infusion Evolution
THE BAND
MICHAEL CAHILL
// drums
One of the most established players in the Boston area with live and recording credits that include his former band The Amazing Mudshark, roots rockers The Loomers, and Don White to name a few. Presently, he studies with world renowned author and performer Gary Chaffee, and also is a member of Gary Chaffee’s Chomp – a percussion ensemble comprised of six of the hottest drummers from the Boston area. During iE tunes, Michael is often heard syncopating patterns of five, seven and nine over common rhythms, while grooving like nobody’s business. He’s toured from Montreal to Miami, has over 15 CD’s recordings to his credit, has composed TV commercials for Mountain Dew and The Gravity Games and has been featured in Modern Drummer and DRUM! magazines
ROB KELMAN
// bass
His bass often "speaks" ornate rifts that allow the groove to blend the rest of the sounds of than band. His distinctive voice lends a 2nd lead vocal to much of iE’s music.
Lee
// vocals
Powerful harmonies that are often complex and layered with musical richness. She
elevates our music to new heights, leaving audiences spellbound. Her voice is a force of nature, effortlessly traversing the octaves with precision and emotion. Whether she's belting out soulful ballads or rocking out with high-energy anthems, her versatility as a vocalist knows no bounds.
TODD ANDREOZZI
// guitars
He was unleashed on the scene with the popular Rush tribute band, Anthem. He’s since advanced his studies in jazz theory and application, and sites Eddie Van Halen, Pat Metheny, Paco De Lucia, and Vicente Amigo as his influences. Todd has got to have about the most intense picking style on the planet; working his solos in iE songs until they about to burst into flames, yet never breaking the delicate nylon strings on his custom Cordoba guitar.
DAVID UPEGUI
// trumpet+singer
Began playing bugle at the age of 7 in his native Colombia. Now, the frontman and co-creator of iE, David is known as much for his trumpet playing and singing as for his warm stage spirit. During his middle school years when his family moved to the states he began his formal studies in jazz and classical. He’s furthered his reputation for versatility by sustaining regular gig playing baroque music at a stunning local treasure of a church in Central Falls, Rhode Island. He has also played shows with Amra Kojon.
